CAPE TOWN Maglia Davide Calabria AC Milan , Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- The opposition's attempt to dissolve Parliament is indicative of their lack of respect towards democracy and the electorate of South Africa, the ruling African National Congress (ANC) said on Tuesday.


The ANC made the statement as Parliament began debating a motion submitted by the Democratic Alliance (DA) to dissolve Parliament and hold early general elections.


"The National Assembly will today waste 85 minutes which could have gone to dealing with substantive matters affecting the lives of the poor majority of South Africans discussing a frivolous motion by the Democratic Alliance to dissolve the National Assembly," said Nonceba Mhlauli, spokesperson of the Office of the ANC Chief Whip.


He called the DA's attempt a "careless stunt" which followed the failure to remove President Jacob Zuma through a no-confidence motion by secret ballot on August 8.


The DA's motion to dissolve Parliament has little chance to succeed as it even lacks support from other opposition parties Maglia Blank AC Milan , he said.


"The DA is proving once more than it has no interest in being part of the solution in addressing the challenges we are faced with as a country but would rather abuse the Constitution in the desperate desire of having early elections with the hope that it will result in a coalition government," said Mhlauli.


Dissolving Parliament amounts to destabilizing the country, he noted.


The DA, Mhlauli said Maglia Personalizzata AC Milan , is a political party hell-bent on bringing regime change to South African shores, and will stop at nothing to accomplish this feat.


Also on Tuesday, the Constitutional Court was hearing an application from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to institute impeachment proceedings against Zuma.


EFF Secretary-General Godrich Gardee said he was confident that more ANC members could be convinced to side with opposition parties.

WARSAW, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Poland has provided "exhaustive clarification" concerning doubts raised by the European Commission (EC), Foreign Ministry said on Monday following a reply sent to the EC regarding recommendations on the rule of law.


"Today, Poland has communicated its response to the European Commission following Commission Recommendation of July 26 Maglia Samu Castillejo , 2017 regarding the rule of law in Poland, complementary to Recommendation of July 27, 2016 and Recommendation of December 21, 2016 Maglia Andrea Bertolacci ," the ministry said in a statement.


"The Polish side has provided exhaustive clarification concerning doubts raised by the European Commission, hoping to continue the dialogue on the merits of the case without any political elements," it added.


According to the ministry, Poland has underlined that the ongoing legislative measures Maglia Stefan Simic , whose overriding aim is to reform the judicial system, are in line with European standards.


Moreover, the ministry expressed reservations concerning the EU rule of law procedure launched by the Commission, while the legislative process of acts being a subject to an evaluation was still in progress.


On July 26 Maglia Alessandro Plizzari , the EC issued recommendations on four legal acts which in the Commission's point of view might be a threat to the rule of law in Poland, namely, the Polish Supreme Court, the National Judicial Council (vetoed afterwards by the Polish President Maglia Mattia Caldara , Andrzej Duda), the common court system and the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution (already in force).
